We live locally and needed somewhere to take our guests over from the UK plus our baby boy. We couldn't leave our house until late and arrived at 1.45pm. I asked the owner if we could have a table and although they were clearly winding down she was very accommodating and let us in!The food was lovely, had potage for starter and moules and pommes frites for main. Lovely bottle of local pinot noir. Our son cried a bit but no one batted an eye and in fact they engaged with him and put me at ease, nothing worse than a crying baby in a restaurant. That really helped me relax and enjoy it which does not happen too often.Didn't see the auberge bedrooms but it looked very nice so would consider it for extra guest in the future.Will definitely be going back soon.
Wir haben einen schlechten Eindruck mit nach Hause genommen. Das Chateaubriand, welches wir bestellen wollten, war aus fadenscheinigen Gründen nicht erhältlich ("wird beim Aufschneiden zu schnell kalt") obwohl im Menu à la carte wie auch im Menu Gourmet aufgeführt. Foie Gras kommt als Block auf einem ansonsten völlig leeren Teller mit einem Stück Brot, Salat phantasielos, um Brot muss extra gebeten werden - kurz, hier gibt sich niemand Mühe mit attraktiver Präsentation der Speisen. Stellt man dies in Relation zu den eher hohen Preisen, stimmt die Bilanz nicht. Dazu passt der Service, der nur oberflächlich freundlich ist. So, wie wir es erlebt haben, gehört das Lokal auch nicht mehr in den "Guide Michelin". Wir kommen nicht wieder.
The restaurant did not disappoint us for our second visit. The variety of dishes is limited however what you get is very delicious. There is a selection of menus or you go a la card which is the same food like bundled up in the menus. Very reasonable are the prices including the wines on the list. You get 2009 and 2010 Bordeaux for 42Euros!The eating room is relaxing and the bathroom have been renewed and modernized. All very clean and friendly. We will go for sure again. The only area of improvement is their website. Very little information which is a shame if you know how nice and yummy the food is in this lovely place in Elsass.
We stayed here to celebrate my partners birthday, he travel a lot so this was perfect 25 minutes from Bottmingen. The food was lovely, the service excellent, our room (Hostelliere) a little dated but peaceful and lovely views.
