There is nothing quite like lunch at L'Auberge Vigneronne. First you have to wind your way up into the hills to find it, then you have to negotiate the slope into the car park. Is it worth the trouble? Absolutely yes! Family run it's speciality is cooking 'à la broche'. Locally raised poultry turns slowly on a spit over a wood fire while the chef bastes the birds with flaming fat from a 'flambadou'. If you don't fancy the grill there are always a couple of alternatives, ours was Daube de Sanglier (shot by Madame's mother-in-law!), cooked to perfection. Menus are 22€ and 27€, there is a real cheeseboard and, on the more expensive menu, a 'fish course' although I substituted a Cèpe omelette, delicious and locally picked. Go with friends, allow several hours and enjoy the experience!
L'auberge vigneronne....Laissez vous guider, tout d'abord par le GPS, puis par le panneau et continuez... Pas d'inquiétudes, la route se rétrécit, les virages se font en épingle... Vous y êtes presque...Un accueil familial, il fait beau, profitez de la terrasse et de sa vue sur la campagne...La suite est à la hauteur de la promesse... Un menu entrée, plat, fromages et dessert.Tout est bon, fin et fait maison...Le vin carafé par Monsieur.De quoi passer une bonne soirée même pas ternie par l'adition tout à fait raisonnable ...On reviendra...
This is a fantastic place to go for Sunday lunch! It is hidden away in a very small hamlet way off the beaten track, but it is well worth finding.The dining room is rustic with a huge fireplace where they roast their homegrown(!) chickens in the winter months. Aroma is fantastic! It is not a fancy place but the food is SO good!
Un restaurant au top quand on cherche a bien manger. Du foie gras maison délicieux en entrée , de la canette rôtie pour la suite , du fromage a tomber et un bon dessert . Le tout pour un menu a 24 euros , que demander de plus .
