If you want a lazy French lunch then this is not for you. We were almost at the point of being rushed in and out in just over an hour with plates cleared as soon as the last mouthful was swallowed and no time between courses. The food is OK, but with the €18.50 menu there is no choice and today it was rabbit, rabbit or rabbit! I don't like rabbit! So, the alternative is the a la carte of the €30.50 menu which was 3 courses off the a la carte menu which we went for. Being so rushed by the staff spoiled what we were hoping to be a relaxed lunch for my birthday. It wasn't. The food was OK, but the value questionable. Unlikely to return. We ate better on this trip for less.
We 've found this place based on Tripadvisor 's good ratings and we were very happy with the excellent quality of food at a fantastic value for money deal for the formule du jour. Before ordering we received 2 amuse bouche and then with the formule du jour a 3 course meal with well executed tasty dishes in good quantities. The service was efficient. The seating area offered some views on the garden, lake and mountains. Our jack Russell was welcome. We arrive at 13:30 and the carpet was a bit full of bread crumbs because of other tables with kids. Overall a place where we plan to come back regularly.
Read the reviews and thought it is worth a visit. The venue is in a nice location, however thats all. Food is average, pricey, they make the dishes look posh but would be better if they tasted as good as they look. Waiters are not friendly and pushy for you to order desserts when ordering your main (most eat their main, see how full they feel and then order accordingly). Kids menus are restricted and they do not do chips. The adult menu is small and also very limited.
We had a late lunch on the terrace. The bistro is part of the Hôtel next to the gastronomic restaurant. The view the lake was priceless. The menu was well executed and wine list adequate. The chef uses very fresh ingredients and everything was cooked to perfection. One of the waiting staff speaks good English was very helpful and friendly. Price was not cheap € 95 for 2 but we each had a 3 course meal with coffee with bottle of wine.
