Do not go here if you are happy, want to enjoy yourself or want a good meal. Staff, great but food mediocre. We ordered the fish and a beef steak which you really needed to work at trying to cut through it as this was as tough as leather. The fish was ok but really didn't have much flavour either. When having a discussion with my partner, we exchanged a few laughs only to be told to shut up by the table next to us as we were being to loud. This was really unacceptable and the staff were as shocked as we were. Needless to say, the table moved and we continued our evening of enjoyment. The following day we went back with our daughter for dinner and was approached by the owner who gave us a firm warning before we entered. This was not the professionalism we expected at all and will no longer support this place.
The menu choice is very limited, so we were expecting to have very fresh ingredients and fluid service. Not so here. Especially the main course, ling filet wit rice and vegetables was not good. Fish overcooked and dry. Then we had to wait for about an hour for the dessert, a very simple white cheese with apple that they just needed to take of the shelf I guess (not very tasty by the way). Waiters were running unorganized from left to right, they refused new customers as of 21h because they couldn't handle it anymore. Aso: only 4 white wine options available in the Loire region, hmmm.... The free coffee we got offered for the poor service could not really make up for the disappointment. I don't understand that this place is getting so many positive reviews. We may have planned our visit on the wrong day.
I did not regret having pushed the door of this bistroquet and opted for the weekend menu. Excellent foie gras. excellent lamb with a sublime gratin of dauphinois (real to cream and without gruyère and small crunchy vegetables. excellent mango cart. The service was nickel, the impeccable presentation. the frame is sober and modern. So it was a no-faute for this small wheat restaurant located near the ledge docks. you can go with your eyes closed, but by opening your eye to climb the stairs!
It was perfect! very pleasant reception, professional staff, welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is hot. the map is small, but at least we doubt they are fresh products, so it's good for us! moreover, a vegan dish is proposed that is very good! The dishes are very good, very well presented. I don't know, I don't want to say anything. Thanks to the whole team, you deserve it! we obviously recommend this establishment and we will return, that is certain!
