We went to Chantilly in August for a 3 day break. We stayed in the Chateau for the 3 nights and booked this restaurant on the 1st night. It was 25 degrees and sunny so the tables were set up outside under a canopy on the patio area. Lovely. The menu was not extensive, but enough choice for us. Indeed we went for the 3 course Menu at around 55 Euros. I remember that my beef starter was exquisite; the Lamb was wonderfully cooked and presented and the Lemon Tart to finish was tangy and tasty. I had a couple of glasses of the house recommended wine and very nice to. All in all around 140 Euros I think for the two of us but for the experience and sheer pleasure I highly recommend and will certainly return on our next visit to Chantilly or surrounding area. You can easily spend a lot more on food and wine here, but at no time did I feel pressured to do so by the staff or my own palette. The prix fixe meal is delicious and our amuse bouche was a cucumber cold soup which was excellent. As a note, we felt comfortable in smart casual wear although I can see this restaurant covering all the spectrum through to suit and tie and being relaxed about that.
We dined on the terrace of this Chalet-like pile of luxury savouring the lingering October dusk. The prix-fixe meal was delicious with the amuse-bouche, followed by a choice of filigree entree, main plate and desert. Outstanding were the fois gras, roasted sea bass and apricot tarte tatin. Perfect in every way. Service is old- school but snappy with adequate Franglese to satisfy the most challenged speaker.
I had the pleasure to visit the Chateau de la Tour on different occasions but mostly for Wedding parties and Lunch. That is definitely a jewel near the famous town of Chantilly. The staff is very friendly and the 1900's style castle has a very warm atmosphere. The food is classic French cuisine. I recommend to book in advance at the restaurant , they are often fully booked!
We decided to have a final dinner of our trip around the France in some unusual place. This place exceeded our best expectations. Perfect testing menu, pleasant surroundings, good service.
