It seems there's really little more to say when you have first class, helpful service wonderful food and good value but tis place deserves special mention. Located riverside it's got a charming ambience from the small but comfortable upstairs dining room. A warm welcome and unhurried service make for a very pleasant lunch. Two courses for 15 euro or three for 20 is extremely good value give the food quality. Even the bread was home made and very very good. The menu du jour of course changes daily we had the Jerusalem artichoke veloute with a seafood sauce and prawns that was fabulous. Our chicken main with celeriac puree, roasted potatoes with caramelised shallots and a hint of lemon and oven roasted vine tomatoes. For dessert I chose the salad of oranges with a caramel sauce, chocolate mousse quenelles and brandy crisp biscuit......Such a great meal no hesitation in recommending it and we'll return when the opportunity arises again.
Small restaurant nicely located on the Meuse river close to Arthur Rimbaud family house and museum. Limited choice in fact you are selecting how many dishes you would like. The “simplest” is entree plat dessert, and I can tell you it is already a very nice lunch !. If you have more time you can have gastronomic meal (6 dishes). The Chef is doing each day his menu (depending on how many people having lunch in the restaurant) not a choice ‘a la carte’ . But the meal is just perfect. In case you do not like one element, they are flexible to propose alternative (entree was ‘lieu jaune’, but one one us does not like fish, and he had very nice ravioles instead). About quality, everything was perfect, very TOP cuisine. Dessert was high level as well. So deserve a visit. We will go back for sure. About the price, it is very reasonable. Quality for price is unbeatable!
For several years I have been visiting Le Diapason.The dishes are created by the chef with fresh ingredients mainly coming from the region itself. The combinations are original and always respectful of the products used.The room is small indeed but the service is very attent, and the wine list offers very good picks.When visiting the Ardennes it is worth stopping there to discover how local products can make wonders.
