"We were told by friends that thius restaurant was cleaner, had baetter service and a bigger seafood choice than the shack opposite. Sadly the only seafood offered were oysters or Lobster at 100€/kg. I chose the oysters which were fine and a second course of Lieu which was acceptable but a little small. The menu was limited and the cider at 20€/litre was also a lot pricier than I expected. The service was adequate but indifferent. Nice location and view. Shame. I shall not bother going back."

Following a Tripadvisor recommendation for le Pere Gus, we walked out here from Blainville. The restaurant is about a 20 minute walk along the beach from the town, although for lazy folk there is vehicle access via a causeway. There are three restaurants here, but both the other two (La Cale and Le Pere Gus) were closed.. it was right at the end of September and I think this is quite a seasonal place. So, Le Grand Herbet it had to be, but we were not in any way disappointed. The Patronne made us very welcome and the food turned out to be excellent. We have been in Normandy for two weeks and these were the best moules I had. I note some of the earlier reviews, perhaps they have listened to them! We had no complaints at all. You can sit outside, right on the beach pretty much, and watch the tractors collecting the seafood you might eat tomorrow.. Just one thing, as I said we sat outside and there was an awning overhead which was quite noisy and flappy. We got used to it, but it was distracting to start with. The dining room inside however looked quite stylish. We recommend this place, La Patronne said it would be open all year so it could be a useful place to try, out of season

Our friends were keen to try this restaurant again with us, as it is under new management with an average result but I was somewhat disappointed with my mains. My starter oysters were absolutely lovely but I chose a hake for mains which came as a very small portion and frankly did not taste fresh, My wife's steak on the other hand was very good indeed, the best she had tasted, cooked saignon to perfection. Our friend had been there a couple of weeks before and had a wonderful cod dish, and so maybe this was not a good night for the fish course, though, given the location, one wold expect very good sea food. Overall enjoyable but a tad expensive compared to others.

Appears to be under new ownership. Choice of food limited, although what was served was good. Menu written on a rather heavy slate, and was just a formula, no a la cartel menu was on offer and we were not offered a wine list. Staff pleasant enough, but not as friendly and welcoming as the old Grand Herbet staff. We were a frequent visitors to the Grand Herbert and always enjoyed both the food, which was plentiful, and the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. Altogether a disappointing evening out. Unlikely to return. Location is superb, but the old, relaxed atmosphere with excellent, well served food and friendly staff has disappeared.

Great coffee glass of wine for myself my wife. Arrived on a Sunday, just before noon, and the cafe area was packed with people. It looks like a family business, with young members working alongside parent. Good buzzy atmosphere inside, but we decided to go outside enjoy the sunshine, which had just popped out. Watched the tractors heading down to the oyster beds, bringing in the sacks of shellfish, while enjoying our drinks. Toilets are unisex, but wheelchair accessible and unusually clean, well done to the staff! (Sliding door could be tricky and no support brackets, but lots of space inside.
