We found this local french restaurant by searching on Tripadvisor and we were so glad we did. This is a simple charming family restaurant which serves good wholesome and tasty food for a reasonable price. The lady who served us, and her husband in the kitchen, were charming. She did not speak English, but went to great trouble to explain the menu for us, with help of online translation on her phone (good fun). The menu was limited in choise but changed daily and we always found an option to suit us. We visited three times during our short stay. Finding a place like this is a godsend when travelling for two weeks as there is a tendency to get restaurant fatigue due to being constantly ripped off by over-priced restaurants. This place restored our faith that good establishments do still exist.
Discovered this fantastic restaurant 2 years ago and make it a regular stop for the best meals of our holidays. I believe it's a husband and wife business which is run perfectly. The lady does not speak English fortunately my wife speaks French but she quickly gets her phone out to translate anything that is not clear. The couple are very pleasant and it adds to the charm . The food. What can I say that has not been said a hundred times before. Simply put , delicious , fresh and plentiful and excellent value for money. I guarantee that your first visit will not be your last. It's a small restaurant so it's advisable to reserve your table. Cannot wait to visit again , within the next few days. Highly recommended.
As you may notice from the reviews published here, Le Lavandin has an excellent and well-deserved reputation. It is run by a married couple and the food is both really excellent and not liable to break your piggy bank. Not a great choice of wine, but what is on offer is not ruinous. Perhaps not a place to impress the love of your life, but the friendliness and all round quality of what is on offer males up for what is lacking in decor. Despite the present heatwave, it's fine to eat outside under the cooling arches. Give it a whirl!
We were staying locally for a week but came here twice because the food was so good and the atmosphere was so friendly. As other reviews have noted, the portion sizes are huge and the value for money excellent. Really lovely quality food. Run by a really friendly husband and wife team. Caters for meat and fish eaters. Limited vegetarian and limited wine selection. Other than that, simply superb!!
