We visited Vallauris to replace a ceramic piece bought a few years ago. There was this lovely courtyard selling beautiful pieces and alongside a very friendly and buzzing restaurant. It was a lovely sunny day and was very shaded. We were given a lovely friendly welcome and a plate of toasts and Tapinard as soon as we sat down. We had a very simple lunch, a pitcher of Rose and a coffee which was perfect. The place filled up very quickly and the staff of 4 never stopped smiling and buzzing around. It appeared as though it was a family business as the two main guys looked like each other and one would assume the two ladies were their partners. Whatever, it was lovely and we would go again when next in the area. As the ceramic courtyard was next door it also gave a very colourful view whilst having lunch.
For a get-together lunch with a good friend, I suggested 'Le Mesclun' to her. Passed by this restaurant last year while walking with her and her family, appears to be a good one as it's filled with diners, thus the proposed lunch. Not disappointed, as we were welcomed right away, immediately given a plate of toasts and tasty,not salty tapenade by a friendly server. Ordered the 'formule express', and the dish of 'calamars' with sauce américaine was really bursting with flavors, accompanied with rice and a bit of salad. Desserts too were delicious. It seems like it's a family business as the very young server looks like one of the main guys. Great ambiance, and friendly atmosphere. Certainly a good place to have lunch and dinner always!
A super whole large fresh sea bass with herbs, very modestly priced , the waiter even proposed to prepare the fillets, large portions of several vegetables + potatoes and tagliatelles, the Tiramisu was unusual but inspiring with peach and mango bitsprice wise: 6 of us for less than 150 Euros, wine and coffee includedIn the shade of a fierce August sun
We went to visit the Picasso museum and had a delicious 2 course menu with coffee in this lovely town on the hill above Golfe Juan. They even gave us a complimentary lemoncello drink when we'd finished!
