I had to create an account just to praise this place. My last night in France on a business trip. Wanted something I'd never had to my French colleague found this place. The owner was so friendly and so funny. Started us out with some tea that was amazing. We were the only people in there so he was cooking just for us and he made it incredible. I don't know any names of what I had but the appetizer was these breaded triangles things. There were 4 with different things in each, salmon, beef, chicken, fish. It was so good I almost had to lay down to eat it! lol. Then I ordered a beef and chicken tajines. It was soooo much food but so good. The guy joked that if I didn't finish I would have to wear the bowl as a hat but it would be ok because there was a shower nearby where I could clean up. The whole experience was amazing. I was laughing and eating great food. If you're close please visit.
Located a very short walk from metro stop Garibaldi, or a stroll from the city, this restaurant is in a residential area of the town. We were warmly greeted by the owner, and decided to sit inside. We could not make our mind up what to have, so the owner showed us the food in the preperation area, and without hesitation, we chose a vegeterian tajine with cous cous. This is a man who is proud of his business, and has a passion for tagines. There was a steady flow of delivery people, the locals must appreciate the food. The food soon arrived, a large dish of cous cous and the tagine of vegetables. All cooked to perfection, lovely taste, and a good quantity. After the main meal, we selected six home made sweets and pastries, again all excellent. All this together with two soft drinks, 29 euroes. Thank you sir, Carole & Steve.
We went with our colleagues at lunch time. The tajine and couscous are served in big portions. The owner is alone but keeps you entertained and is very friendly. Good value for the price.If you want to drink alcohol, you can bring your bottle of wine for free. To try if you are in the area and like couscous.
If you want to enjoy delicious home cooked-style tajines in Lyon, this is the place. The food is fresh and beautifully seasoned, and the the chef takes good care of you. The food, hospitality, and price are excellent. I felt like I was back in Maroc.
