I had been there to this small, but well decorated restaurant a few times during my recent visit to Belfort. I must say that the people who manage the orders are a smart lot who precisely understand what a customer wants. Typically, the way French eat their meal is very different from how Indians do. They eat bread/roti/nan as a starter. Indians eat that as main course. The restaurant guys understand this very well and cater to individuals' requirements well.The food is good...not extraordinary compared to what we get in India. But great compared to Indian food outside India.Ambience is good. There is a personal Indian touch that you will feel there in a foreign land. One can surely visit there many times.A 3 star for the food and a star extra for the personal touch and hospitality.
I visited Belfort for couple of days visit during my Business trip. After having French food for one week, I found this Indian restaurant in Belfort by searching on google maps.The restaurant is small (like any other restaurant in this area) but serve really tasty Indian food including Naan, variety of rices, various veg and non-veg Curries and many Indian starters like samosa, pakoda etc.The owner is very friendly and talk to everyone in a very informal
This is a very busy restaurant with typically anglicised or perhaps " francified" Indian food. Quite a limited menu by comparison with its equivalent in the UK but the chapatis were particularly well cooked. However, it really was a nightmare trying to get the bill and leave. We had been friendly and polite throughout the evening but in the end we developed a seething dislike for the people.
Was it the best Indian food that I have ever had? The answer is no. However it still was very good, especially the spinach sag and the tandoori. I am also very thankful that this restaurant was open for dinner on a Sunday night because that is the exception in Belfort.
