Salve! I am delighted to share my positive experience in the small Le Péplum brewery in Bavay. This city has a rich history like the former Gallo-Roman regional capital, as well as the Nerven capital before that. The delicious dishes I tasted reminded me of the recipes that the Romans could have prepared more than two thousand years ago in this same region: the remake of the Gaulish fries with grilled wild boar. The atmosphere of the hotel is friendly and warm, just as in the Roman baths where people met to relax. The friendly and attentive staff made my experience even more enjoyable. The impeccable hygiene of the restaurant has also attracted my attention, recalling the need for cleanliness in the restaurants of the Roman Antiquity. Thinking about it, I couldn't help thinking about the cultrum knives used to cut carnival meat to my meals, like the sharp knives used in the nearby Roman garrison. In short, this establishment is an ideal place to discover the ancient history of the region while enjoying tasty specialties. Just like the ancient Roman forums where citizens met to discuss and eat, Le Péplum is a place where you can spend a good time with friends or family. I strongly recommend that you come on a tour. Vale!
