The proprietor of our chambres d'hote highly recommended Le Petit Bistro, so we gave it a try. Sadly, after the build up it had received, we were decidedly underwhelmed by the experience. Described as serving high quality local food "with a twist", we were expecting more, especially at the prices charged. The welcome - and the service generally - was efficient, rather than friendly. The menu was short - always a good sign of fresh ingredients, in my opinion. My entree of "croustillant de chevre aux figues" was pleasant enough, but did "exactly what it said on the tin" - no more, no less. My "salade lyonnaise" was made with excellent ingredients, but arrived with no dressing. (Maybe that was the twist?) My wife's main course of goose breast was well cooked, as was her dessert of "pain perdu" with salted caramel. Overall, we were a little disappointed, but perhaps our expectations had been raised too high.
