While sightseeing around Fontainebleau with the family, came across a roadside restaurant that I had not seen in over 45 years!The renovation took away some of the more auberge-like features of the interior, but the food was still as wonderful as I remembered as a teen.We enjoyed everything from the onion soup and foie gras starters to the main courses of venison, ribeye and even a tuna burger! The lemon cheesecake and chocolate/caramel charlotte helped us bid a sweet au revoir!Maybe you'll find the occasion to dine this well on your next unexpected discovery!
I'm dropping into this restaurant everytime I stay in the area for climbing and I've never been disappointed. The menu changes according to the seasons and, although small and containing some classics, carries new dishes as well. At the moment I'd recomend the "bavarois de betterave accompagné de son chèvre chaud au basilic et citron", absolutely lovely dish. Welcome by the owner is always warm and make you feel at home rightaway. They do have a nice little winelist as well.
We've driven past this restaurant on many occasions and never really noticed it.Yesterday we dropped in, what a surprise it is.A very homely feel with a lovely warming fire place, ample room for private conversations. Great service, great food.Try out Luke's innovative tasty dishes and be treated by Beatrice's gracious wonderful service.We'll be back for sure, see you there.
We were staying three doors away from this amazing restaurant. How lucky was that! What a great find. The ambience, food, service and of cause, wine were fantastic. The menu was limited, as you would expect, due to its size. But they were able to cater for my wife's gluten free needs with no loss of quality. We immediately reserved a second visit.
