Sitting on the terrace on a beautiful evening watching the sun over the river one of the most beautiful places I have eaten, which is a good part of the reason that we go back. The food is delicious appetizer of Gateaux de foie with Cancer sauce strange, but it worked really nicely followed by the Meli Melo (a rich fish soup really with Zander and more cancer and Go! of cream! that was incredibly rich and satisfying. In the past I had the Eskargot and the Grenouilles that my wife and friends had this time, but I would have ordered the entire menu. Good bottle of Saint Veran also to accompany. The service was also good. My only complaint was the Carte d'Ore Desert menu formulated and clearly not made in the house they can definitely be done with it. The cream brulee was granular and also boiled over. Too bad.
Le restaurant du Pont de Thorey is an ideal place to enjoy the cuisine of the river Saone or river grosne area: cuisses de grenouilles (frogs ' legs) fritures (river small fishes fried) and typical river fishes like brochet, sandre etc.... The food is very good and tasty like in this area: possibly not as healthy as one can expects but in la Bresse, cream and oil are commonly used for the cuisine..... Location is just near the river: you 'll have the river view from most of the tables and the menu abundant with many choices. Good place to enjoy cuisine a la bonne franquette at the boarder of la Bresse, best location to taste the typical blue feet chicken Good wine list too (with fair prices) Will return for sure for les cuisses de grenouille
We visited this restaurant on the river bank for Sunday dinner with friends, with a pre-book (especially a must on a Sunday). We were shown to our table overlooking the river and our commands for aperitifs were taken and quickly brought while we studied the menu. A good selection of 3 or 4 menus or from the a la carte. The food ranges from the local favorite of frog legs and various fish or chicken dishes. We all enjoyed our decisions, followed by a cold dessert. The service was excellent, attentive, but not lazy, and the food came at reasonable intervals. Wines from the region were very appreciated.
Beautiful location on the river, but the food was little on content and therefore overpriced. Our bill for appetizers and main thing plus half bottle of wine was €64. In Britain we would have had much more good food and more companions such as salads and shrimps for less money. Unfortunately, today we are often disappointed with restaurants in France. They are well pleased with the standards we are used to in England. Come to France!
