Le Portofino - Tisch reservieren

We were visiting a friend who lives in St Saturnin and we wanted to take her out for a meal to say thank you for looking after us so well. We chose Le Portofino because it was very near to where she lives and I had seen that they did Fruit de Mer, which I love.Being out of town (Le Mans) they had there own car park which is always a bonus, especially because it was raining. We were greeted warmly and shown to a table, we hadn't booked having read on line that it was not necessary. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the tables are well spaced so that you don't feel that you are being crowded by adjacent tables. There are plenty of tables outside and these were in use when we arrived and luckily had large umbrellas though we chose to sit inside.The service was excellent and the food was very nice, I've had better Fruits de Mer but when you've eaten at Rick Steins it's difficult to find anything to match that! The dessert, Tiramisu, was delicious and plentiful. Overall the meal was very good and we enjoyed our meal out. We would definitely go again if we are lucky enough to be invited back by our friend.

This restaurant should have everything. Its position is excellent , being surrounded by budget hotels. and with a nice terrace. However, whilst visiting for Le Mans classic car races, we made a reservation for the terrace in lovely weather and were looking forward to a great meal. but on arrival. we could see that the staff were overworked and stressed. Our drinks took half hour to arrive and our meal arrived half hour between each other, one with a long hair on the plate. A further half hour until it was replaced by which time my wife was no longer hungry. We receive zero attention and eventually simply walked out at which point a waiter came rushing out. we reurned and paid some of the bill and receive a bottle of wine and an apology too little too late,.

This restaurant does look like a chain type but we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and the prompt delivery of our meals.There was plenty of good choices on the menu and the wine was very good.The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was very popular as more people flowed in through the doors and by the time we left there was a line up to get in.Our meals were of a good quality and size and we really enjoyed dining here,it was also good value

Visited on November 10th when the restaurant was very busy. Shown to our table straightaway, given menus within 3 minutes and offered aperos within 5 minutes. The service is so efficient that we had to consciously slow it down. Excellent and very varied choice of food all of which was well cooked, well presented and served in a very timely manner. The Iberian speciality mains were exceptional. Will definitely go again and strongly recommend it.

We tried several menus. The seafood is very good. The fameux filet sur marbre is very tasty. It is a nice steak on a hot stone for you to finish. The skewers are big and presented nice.
