"Not too big, so you know you matter. Friendly service and excellent food. The fish is beautiful! The menus are very good value, but I like to go a la carte so as to leave room for dessert. The vegetables are beautifully cooked and presented. We go regularly when we are on holiday for a special evening out ."

This is probably one of the best of the quayside restaurants. Trendy it is not, but after all this is a seaside holiday locale. It was a bit too casual for our liking and the atmosphere is nothing to write home about. However the food was truly excellent. Six of us enjoyed lots and lots of oysters, followed by turbot and bream. Together with desserts and a bottle of chablis the bill came to about twenty-five euros per head, which is a far cry from what one would have paid in Paris. This really is a nice family restaurant with a chef who prepares simple but excellent fare.

Went there upon recommendation of locals. Overall, service was a bit distant and formal despite the casual atmosphere. Food was ok. We felt that the seafood platter did not taste very fresh, especially the crab legs where the meat was dry. Langoustines were ok. Our mains were good. Desert was extremely heavy especially the radpberry gratin which was like warm custard. Overall we felt a bit disappointed given the amazing reviews and recommendations..

It may seem a bit strange to eat in a Provencal restaurant in Brittany, but the local ingredients lend themselves well. The cooking here isn't sophisticated, but the ingredients and the welcome make this a good place to eat amongst a strip of brasseries and bars. Our prawns and langoustines followed by fish main courses were delicious and the Chinon rose as perfect accompanyment as the sun set over the harbour

We had a lovely meal at Le Provencal last week - exquisite seafood and fantastic dessert. The service was friendly and helpful. Our son had the kids' menu and was very happy with it. I only wish the decor were a bit better and the restaurant less cave-like. You don't get much of a view of the port or outdoors. By far the best food we've in Port du Crouesty.
