I think this must be my 5th review of this restaurant. Probably a record, for me. And frankly 5 star reviews seem almost superfluous now, as that’s all that anyone seems to give it! But every meal sends us away so elated, that it seems a positive duty to give them another plug. The chef – whom we’ve got to know a little bit over the years – is ridiculously modest about what he does. And if the space were more pompous and service more stuffy and formal (instead of warm, chatty and full of humour, as it is) I’m sure they would already have a Michelin star. The food is precise, packed with interesting flavours and certainly more original and more regularly updated than many that Michelin have garlanded. The little extra terrace at the side (supplementing the big – slightly garage like one at the front) is a nice new addition on a hot summer’s night. It’s always a sadness if our journeys through central France have us passing this way on a night when the P’tit Roseau is closed
