Le Relais De L'ecluse

Visiting Django Rheinhardt 's Jazz fest again strolled NE along the Seine from Samois and found Le Relais. Its only a few mins from Django 's old house. They had an 11€ lunch a complete plate salade, herbed and grilled chicken thigh with serrano ham and potted turkey terrine plus a drink included. Very well presented interesting rice salad and mixed leaves. Simple vinagrette. Enjoyable house red. Brilliant service, friendly staff. Excellent terrace overlooking the river and moored boats.Say hello to the parrot inside !

Still one of the most relaxing locations ever, but what a change from when we last visited three years ago the old yellow umbrellas and an illusion of expense now replaced by a lower drinks area and a super raised deck with a delightful outlook over the river. AND the very reasonably priced food and service were absolutely first class.

Warm welcome, excellent value for money and delightful setting on the banks of the Seine. We had a table next to the window, overlooking the river when booking, I suggest you request this. After lunch, we took a walk along the river past a number of picturesque barges, and then into the Forrest of Fontainebleau.

This was a local recommendation, the menu was very varied and the owner took the time to translate each of the dishes, he was very patient. We enjoyed a starter and a mains, the scallops were excellent and my fish stew took some beating, recommended.

Nice location, great atmosphere, but average food Close to the Seine waterfront, great for a sunny afternoon
