There are not a lot of hotels around in this part of Gascony so there is not a much competition but this hotel was convenient for the company I was due to be visiting the next day. I had driven down from Bordeaux having just flown in from London so arrived fairly late in the evening but having dropped my bag in my room I immediately came back downstairs to go to the restaurant. The bright, well laid out restaurant was fairly busy despite it being mid-week. I was shown to the inevitable side table so familiar to solo business travellers. The menu was full of local delights from which I chose the Foie Gras followed by some sort of fish. The Foie gras was good even if the vegetable accompaniment was a bit ‘tired’. The fish main course was overcooked and the bed of vegetables seemed like they had been simmering on the hot plate all evening. A nice glass of local Gascogne wine made it all just about OK. The staff were polite and friendly but it was useful being able to understand French as little English was spoken. Certainly not the best advert for a French regional restaurant.
