Le Restaurant Ibis Granville Port De Plaisance

After three weeks of serious dining in France, we just wanted a breather and a more informal meal. Since we were staying at the hotel, and already knew what there was to offer along the waterfront, we opted for the hotel dining room. The greeting is genuinely friendly and the views over the marina quite pleasing.With a big glass of decent beer or wine, hotel food is an acceptable option. We order the house salad-which consisted of a Croque Madame, a well dressed portion of salad greens with a nice wedge of Camembert and tasty pommes frites. The helping of "fresh fruit" was anything but-fruit salad from a jar of industrial provenance.The restaurant offers a wider menu of seafood and other dishes. I can't speak to how well they are executed, although some scallops going to another table looked attractive.There is something to be said for a hotel dining room that offers decent if not exemplary food for the tired traveler.

The staff were under to much pressure, clearly understaffed and one lady in particular had a terrible attitude.She unfortunately dropped a glass of Kir over one of my party, there was no apology, I had to clean the floor and the wet napkin was left on the floor for the duration of our meal. There was no offer of cleaning for the stains on the outfit or a replacement free drink! We waited a long time to be served, so long I did consider leaving. We had to ask for bread and wine coolers, in fact when the wine coolers finally arrived we had finished one bottle of wine. The food when it finally arrived was ok, nothing special at allWe won't be going back and as we visit a lot with our boat, we shall mention to other boat owners our experienced if asked for a recommendation.

Had to wait almost an hour between starter and main course, let alone dessert. Service was with a smile but the staff that waited on us was just incompetent ... Food tasted like something that come out of a bag that was heated up in a microwave. Never got that butter we asked for, got served salad with the dressing already mixed despite asking for a salad without dressing. Even had to ask for the bill twice. Can't say I would recommend this restaurant, disappointing experience.

This is part of the Ibis Hotel, right on the waterfront at the marina.It seems always to be busy and locals use the restaurant which is a good sign.The service is a little stiff, but there is good food, well presented, at a reasonable price.We tried it a couple of times and we were very pleased.

My wife and I stayed in the Ibis hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the friendly service. Well worth a visit.
