le Toucan - Tisch reservieren

Le Toucan was recommended to us by a family who live in Orbe, which is about a ten minute drive from their home. We found the restaurant staff to be very friendly as we all struggled a bit in communicating between French and English, but we had good service and very good food the three times that we dined here. The menu features many salads and pizzas and a selection of interesting entrees. The grilled lake perch was on the menu for all of our visits and it was actually very good, although I'm no sure that it came from nearby Lake Geneva. If you come during nice weather I would definitely recommend that you dine outside on the terrace, which is shaded by tall old trees and is quite nice. In cooler or rainy weather, the inside dining area is divided into the white-table cloth dining room and the wooden table café sides, both of which offer the same menu. One of the evenings that we were there with our two grandchildren we sat in the more casual café area and the service and food were as good as the night that we sat on the terrace - but sitting outside when possible is clearly the better option. This is not a "destination" restaurant, but if you are in the vicinity of Orbe I would certainly recommend it.

We went on a Friday when the menu presented featured a salad, perch (a local lake fish) filet pieces and a dessert. The salad had asparagus and ham - both easy to chew. We ordered thin chips with our perch filet and everything was just right. The local white wine went well with the meal. For dessert, there was a choice and I selected the raspberry parfait made from egg white and raspberries. The menu represented a sample of regional cuisine with an original touch.

First meal after arriving, we wanted light fare. Good place for it. Nicely appointed, clean atmosphere. Friendly staff and home cooked food. More country style cooking than high end stuff. They have cheeseburgers and frittes. Saw locals loving them. I had a sausage and mashed potatoes with some kind of cheese in it. Good feed. Wine they suggested good. Apple tart perfect. Country style duck good too.

Have been going to this restaurant for years, nice restaurant and good simple food and excellent pizzas. They have a nice big terrace outside that is great in the summer but can get very busy so recommend to reserve if you want to eat.Lots of parking in front that is very handy.

The food is nice at all. I love the decoration here and the staff really polite. By the way, the price is comfortable. See you guys
