We stopped for Sunday lunch on a Champagne Flit, nicely placed 110 miles from Calais.Right in the centre of Saint Quentin with easy parking I chose the €27,90 set menu and my wife the €37,90. four or five choices for each course with specials of the day.My escargots in a Maroilles (strong local cheese) sauce was delicious as were the rognons in a creamy mustard sauce to follow. Opposite the Scallops and asparagus tart was very well received and the sole meuniere perfectly cooked.Strawberry Charlotte and baked banana completed a super lunch. the wine list is not extensive but there is plenty for everyone with a good range of price and quality.Oh I nearly forgot, the slice of Maroilles on toast, the local equivalent of welsh rarebit went well with our aperitif.
