A great restaurant must excel at three things; food, service and cultivation of atmosphere. For a restaurant with a Michelin star, I'm afraid that le violin d'ingres comes up short on all points.I took Charlotte there to celebrate her birthday, and we took advantage of their set menus.Food: the food was average at best, with poor dish construction, and clumsy matching of flavours. There were a few highlights such as a lobster soup amuse bouche and a delightful pear dessert. The shine was taken off by the discovery of a hair in Charlotte's dessert. Doing a little bit of impromptu spying, through the open kitchen door, Charlotte noticed a distinct lack of hair gear in the chefs. The mystery of the hair was solved, but come on guys, seriously....Service: the restaurant does better here, with our waiter being attentive, and going out of his way to explain our dishes in both English and French. He also recommended an excellent wine, that went well with our set menus, no easy feat with the variety of flavours on display. Top marks so far....However, one moment of clumsiness deposited most of a glass of said excellent vintage over Charlotte's lap.Atmosphere: dining at a Michelin star restaurant should be an experience, and not like dining in your friend's front room. You know when you turn up for a meal, there's maybe a few extra guests, and you end up sitting on a wicker chair from the patio...not good at all.We did however get free coffee, but that was not a kind gesture because it was Charlotte's birthday. She had to ask for it, as recompense for hairgate !

This restaurant was recommended to us by friends. Overall, it was a very good experience. We ordered from the menu. As starters, we had the trout and the lobster. Both tasted great and fresh. We continued with the scallops and the monkfish. Again both were great. The meal was paired with a fantastic white Chateauneuf du Pape. We ended the meal with an Irish coffee, a white chocolate cake, and two mille-feuilles. Those were really the highlight of our evening. The rest was great too but somehow lacked the "wow" factor you would expect from such a high end restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. For four people, our check was $400.

This was one of the best french quisine experiences in Strasbourg. We had de coquilles saint jacques, they were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The service was perfect, discreet ant attentive just as you would wish. The setting was very cosy and intimate. The restaurand design was not very impressive, but considering the amazing quality of the food and service it really has no importance.

It was a great surprise as it is not a tourist spot and the night we have been there, there were a lot of locals.Good sign. The food is very good as well as the service. The wine list was a little bit short but with honest prices.
