We found this gem of a restaurant by chance. It was packed with locals at lunchtime and we needed to wait at the cafe down the street. When a table became available the owner, Benat Richefort, came to get us. The food was outstanding. There were four of us and we all ordered something different. Everything ordered was prepared on a grill and was absolutely delicious. I recommend the pork ribs which was nothing like I have had anywhere else. Benat and his wife, who works the kitchen, were wonderful hosts. Benat works the front of the house and is funny and charming, making all his guests feel like family. I even left with a bottle of their special marinade as gift from the Richeforts. If you are ever in Cambo Les Bains, please make this a destination. You will be gastronomically rewarded!
Found this little place after exploring the village. Went to eat here based on the reviews and we were met by the very jovial host and seated immediately. Service good and restaurant busy. We chose the ribs and the chicken both of which arrived promptly and the plates were full. My only negative comment was the fries served on my plate which were overcooked and a bit grey. The restaurant itself isn't very large but is friendly and the art on the walls is amusing and worth a look. Overall good and prices average for this part of France.
A real gem. Fantastic hearty portuguese style grilled food. Great friendly, welcoming service at a good price. We were a party of four adults and four kids and were made very welcome. French service can be a bit sullen and cold but not here. The waiter/owner was great with the kids. You always know its good when people are being turned away at the door on a Tuesday.
Looking around Cambo for Sunday lunch, we came across this little gem of a restaurant, full of character and good humour. We had an excellent meal. Not high cuisine, this is a busy restaurant with a take-away trade and obviously a local's favourite, but the food was well-thought out and tasty. A little expensive, perhaps, but we were very happy with our experience.
