We live in Arles sur Tech most of the year, and we often order take-out pizza, always the provençale with extra garlic, from the Caves Mouragues. Is it Italian? No, it's not, but it's quite good for what it is. (We live in Rome part of the year, so we know pizza.) Lately, we've had dinner a few times at Caves Mouragues, and we must say that it's really quite good. No pretenses, served in a characterful, quite old-fashioned setting. Because we like escargots and oysters and scallops, we usually order the most expensive menu at €24.50, but there are just as generous for less: a lunch menu at €13.50 and four other menus at €16.50. It's all good home cooking, served in very copious portions. I'm a big eater, and I have difficulty finishing a meal at Caves Mouragues. Lovely terrace in fine weather. One thing: If you go in summer, or indeed at any time when you hit a large group or when most or all of the tables are taken, you're going to wait to be served, sometimes far too long. You'll have a far better experience at Caves Mouragues off-season or on any day, even in summer, when it's not so full. Frédérique is a charming hostess, while her husband Patrice slaves away in the minuscule kitchen.
