We had taken a friend to Nantes Atlantique Airport and wanted lunch (my wife and myself). This restaurant shares a site with the Kyriad hotel but is in a quite separate building. The decor is ultra modern, clean and tidy. Service was slow and haphazard. The chicken tagine we selected from the "menu du jour" was insipid, lacking spices and any decent flavour. I paid the bill at reception and tendered my debit card without checking the written bill. It was only when I thought the total was rather steep that I examined the printed bill closely and found I had been charged € 39 for a bottle of wine which I had not ordered (and certainly had not drunk)! On pointing this out, confusion set in and a senior member of staff came to sort out the error. Proving unable to correct the debit to my card I was given cash ( with rather bad grace). No real apology was offered. I was made to feel a nuisance because I had complained!
Excellent food, a delightful amuse Bouche ,Charming head waiter, and staff, a talented chef...I had foire gras followed by duck breast and a lovely 5 fruit parfait , all beautifully presented in a spacious dining room with a large terrace, and the cost 22 €...for 3 course Sunday lunch with a bottle of Muscadet, bottled for the restaurant at 18€ The restaurant is in a lovely parkland setting with a Hotel Kariad next door.
Possibly the best restaurant we have used in France. We had a 36€ menu which gave use entree, plat, fromages and dessert. It was good value for money and the food was excellent served with amuse bouche between courses. There was an extensive wine list and the food was served by people who were very knowledgable. Such a good experience. We hope to visit here again.
Stay here at the adjacent hotel. Very accommodating staff, like a children's menu (smaller portions of the main menu instead of standard chicken nuggets etc...., nice food and beautifully presented.
