Les Delices Du Batelier

Late October, sunny day, great opportunity to eat a light lunch in the sunshine BUT we were not alone in thinking this and the chef man and his two young lady servers were clearly overwhelmed by the demand! Slow very slow very very slow.....Sadly one of our omelettes was incorrect, the other two were not cooked enough, watery from the chunky mushrooms and cheese still in its grated form in the centre and chilly too! The galette was ok. The fries were good and hot. The green salads were smothered in dressing. We challenged the bill and they didn’t charge for one omelette. Quite right Stop taking food orders or explain to folks about delay. Don’t rush the cooking time, serve the food correctly cooked, don’t compromise your reputation.

Restaurant is situated near the statue of Cyrano de Bergerac and was nicely shaded Service was friendly and efficient Had the two course formula with a pitchet of good rose. The duck confit was tasty With one we had a green salad with walnuts and the other chips, which were perfectly cooked. The desert was cooling on a hot day A pleasant spot for a light lunch and relax while exploring the old quarter

A very enjoyable lunch to be had in the historic centre of Bergerac. The tables in the small square are ideal particularly on a sunny Sunday. We had the Salad de Berger which was more than adequate. The service was as you would expect welcoming and jovial. We shall return.

Popped in with family for a quick brunch. The Croque Monsieur and chips was great for a simple dish, everyone else had crepes with were demolished in short order. Nothing complicated, just well prepared and well presented

Lunchtime meal. Entrecôte and Confit, both good. Reasonably priced, efficient service, pleasant surroundings
