Hotel L'esplanade is an outstanding hotel. The location is fantastic, with a superb view overlooking the Dordogne River valley. The rooms were well appointed and well equipped. The service was impeccable Hotel L'explanade is a family run establishment, and everyone we met were very friendly and solicitous of our every need. The dinner we had at the hotel restaurant was one of the finest we have ever experienced – the surroundings were magical –a beautiful dining room with a spectacular view of the Dordogne River Valley, the service was flawless, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a wonderful one night stay and would be delighted to visit there again.
Hotel is in a fantastic position overlooking the Dordogne valley below. They have a large indoor restaurant but understandably we preferred to have meals on the terrace overlooking the amazing view! We would definitely recommend the restaurant too wonderful food don't miss the huge selection of cheese on their cheese board trolley! The weather was unusually hot whilst we were there we were very glad of the air conditioned rooms.The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially the hotel owner Sophie . Thank you I'm sure we'll be back!
We knew we wanted to head to the best vantage point to watch the sun go down and boy we found it. The restaurants terrace was magnificent. The sun has gone down and so have a couple of aperitifs so it was time for dinner and boy this didn’t disappoint either. The food was excellent as was the service. Dogs were allowed into the restaurant which was a real added bonus. The ambience was very welcoming and relaxing with attentive but with non intrusive service. Will definitely return. Thank you.
The restaurant is beautiful and has an excellent view of the river valley. Since a large group had the tables with a view in the restaurant, they let me take a window table in the bar. The food was amazing! I had steak and it was the best steak that I had cooked very delicately and perfectly in France. The strawberry Dessert was also really nice. Great place to take a date! Smaller portions and not cheap, but worth it for a chic food
