Santa Susanna has something for all ages.There are plenty of cafes bars along the lovely promenade.In the evening,this has numerous stalls with souvenirs,hair brading etc.During the day there are 2 land trains.One painted blue yellow,does a tour of the town,the other, brown yellow goes right to the top of the town on the hillside,where you can get some wonderful panoramic views.I recommend the brown /yellow one The train station is very accessible to all the hotels tickets can be bought at the information bureau opposite.It takes 1 1/4 hours to Barcellona. The beach is quite nice,but it is fine shale not sand. Every Tuesday, the road running parallel to the railway is closed there is a marvellous market set up on it,running the full length of the resort. .There are quite a few places you can hire cycles,family size fun trykes etc. Each day, boats come right up to the beach,if you fancy a boat trip along the coast.The beach is accessible via under passes. At the back of the town is a large Carrefour supermarket which has other shops attatched.It was only a 10 minute walk across fields from our hotel,The Aqua Hotel Onabrava All in all Santa Susanna is a very pleasant place to visit.My wife I had 2 wonderful weeks there.I omitted to say, there is a small fun fair,which only opens in the evening is great for families with small children. Malgrat is easily accessible,as it joins up with Santa Susanna my wife I had a couple of pleasant walks there.
we booked a visit online for my family as we were visiting Santa Susanna resort and the park has a number of plenty flumes for the confident kids and adults alike. and three small children's pools with slides and fountains , a bit of advice would be to take a picnic lunch as it can be very expensive if you are a large group lunch around 8 or 9 euros each for a meal, chips 4.5 beer or soft drinks around 3.5 euros small 6.5 euros large three shows twice a day for parrots sea lions and dolphins plenty of room and easy access, kids loved this place as did the adults
The area is quiet and peaceful, nice promenade and view of the mountains. Quite far away from Barcelona approx.1.5 hrs on the train but a lovely journey along the sea. Train service very good. More local restaurants and shops would've been great. About 15 20 mins walk to the station wished it was a little closer to the hotel.
Mini train that does a tour around Santa Susanna. Very reasonable. Takes you all round and up onto the hill behind the town where you get a panoramic view of Santa Susanna, Malgrat and Blanes. Great for any age take your camera!
