Lord Nelson Inn

Stayed here over night on the way to collecting our new puppy. The pub is really very nice and quaint. The selection of beers is great and they do a mean Guinness. We had fish and chips for an evening meal and it was very tasty. The fish batter was lovely but a bit too cridou for me, great tasting dinner. The staff we're extremely polite and attentive at all times. Very friendly too. We stayed in room 2 which was comfortable but it does need a bit of an update as the walls have the paper falling off in places and the bathroom needs updating. For the money, it's not bad at all. They have some very nice looking stable bedrooms which look lovely but are probably more expensive. Our breakfast was very nice. Wouldn't mind staying here again but probably on the stables next time. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet, Great value

Lovely food, great service, nice clean and comfortable room and very friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Rooms: Lovely big comfortable bed. Dog friendly but very clean. Everything you need. Food drinks: Would recommend the fish and chips and the pork belly, both delicious. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value

Had an overnight stay on way back from holiday in France, very close to A1, great food nice bar area and nice room in renovated stables, would definitely stay here again, no problem Rooms: 4 Service: 4 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Quiet, Great value

Part of the pub but rooms are seperate so a great location. Lovely full breakfast for a extra tenner. Only downside was the bed, too hard, so very uncomfortable for me : Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 4

Lovely place to stop for a drink after a hike in the area
