M mediterranes Restaurant

Being out of season a number of the restaurants in St Gilgen were closed. Fortunately M-Place was open as I was keen to try it given the good reviews on here.We visited twice and the food was good with reasonable pricing. The restaurant is laid out like an American diner and there were plently of friendly wait staff providing a good service to the fairly full restaurant. They can provide an English version of the menu if required.One thing I found odd was that the (expensive) bottled water was served by the wait staff when brought to the table but the seal for the cap had already been broken before their arrival. This seemed to be common practice as all the restaurants where we had bottled water served it in the same way with the seal broken. Whether or not any of these restaurants are refilling the bottles themselves I wouldn't like to say.

We were on a half board package at our hotel where the food was good. We had moved in to our second week and just wanted a change of scenery and a simple but tasty menu. M-Place gave us exactly what we needed, the starter of mixed seafood and carpaccio was cooked well (apart from the carpaccio obviously) and was as tasty as a tasty thing. We all opted for Pizza, and despite 3 out of 4 of us not being able to clear our plates, it was only due to eyes bigger than stomachs. The Pizza was one of the best I have had in a long time.So, food was great, what about the service? No complaints here either, prompt service, adequate attention, and pleasant attitude.Would be back again if we weren't on half board.

This restaurant is a really nice place with a huge range of delicious pizza and pasta dishes. During my stay in St. Gilgen I've been there twice, had a pizza and some pasta and it was delicious! Also, the service stuff there is incredibly nice and courteous (I asked for a vegetarian version of spaghetti carbonara - it was not problem.) But what I enjoyed the most was the panoramic view you have from the inside, there are a lot of window seats as the restaurant is open to three sides. You can see the lake and also parts of the promenade. Will definitely come back!

Good Pizza. Excellent chocolate mouse and very nice ambience. Modern type decoration and very friendly service. A good place to have lunch or dinner specially if you need a change from the Austrian food typical in this region.

Nice smart and modern bar/restaurant with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. We had a delicious side salad. I had a cappriciosa pizza and my partner had the calzone. It was so tasty we had to go back!
