Martin Berasategui has a big name that can be marketed. There's nothing wrong with that. But the value has to be right. He's still right. There are two menus, a cheaper one with the master's classics and an expensive one with the newer program. The differences are not necessarily obvious. Without a doubt, the cooking here is very good and original, not at the forefront of innovation and originality, but really good. Minor discrepancies should not go unmentioned. Why the kitchen and service sent out the first three courses in immediate succession remained inexplicable, but was turned off when asked. The third course came when the dishes from the second course we had just eaten were still on the table. The pricing can be questioned. The cheaper classic menu costs around €550 for two people with an aperitif and a bottle of average wine. Star restaurants used to offer an extensive menu to choose from. There were one or two menus that were significantly cheaper, so that the guest also took them. This saves the kitchen a lot of organization and costs. Today there are only set menus, but at a price where in earlier times you could easily eat à la carte. And the wine list? The prices are fierce. A glass of wine offered by the glass for up to €180 who should order that? You can still prepare yourself a nice evening here. The service is trained and attentive.
