We have a call-out order from Mis Raices in Teaneck, NJ. The food here is YUMMY! This is a “go” place for Arroz Con Pollo, rice and beans, Empanadas, etc. It is authentic Puerto Rican and Cuban cuisine. This was our first collection since the current COVID pandemic restrictions, but not our first visit at all. We ordered at least two dozen times, but realized that I never wrote a review. This time we ordered Arroz con Pollo ( rice with chickens and red beans, Empanadas (our favorites are beef and cheese, chicken and cheese, beef or clear cheese, Alcapurria (a roasted frit filled with Yuca and ground beef, and Chicharron de Cerdo (fried pork flakes with rice and gandule). Everything was DELICIOUS, FRESH and MOIST! It was the first time we tried Alcapurria and I really wished we ordered a bunch instead of one! I couldn't make a picture of it because we shared it in the car - it smelled so good and tasted even better! We will definitely return to Mis Raices for more “yummy in the tummy” food!
I am Swedish Cuban and Japanese. My dad lived in Cuba for a while. I am the great granddaughter of a Cuban dictator. But I look more like Swedish. My adopted son is Puerto Rican and I know his family and they taught me to cook. The food is authentic and tasty. I live in NYC. Not sure if we will be back because of the long distance to travel. But we certainly will if we are ever in the area again!
We are regularly here . I can't tell you how much we love this place! Anna, Eddie and Jessie are a family trio that really welcomes you to the restaurant as if you were visiting their home. The food portions are very generous and so favorable. We have introduced many close friends to this food and everyone loved it. Always on our next meal here!!!
Best ropa vieja I had ever!!! Chuletas were terrified. Plantain chips with the Mayo-garlic cilantro sauce was great! Also the white rice was perfect! Owners and their family were incredibly sweet and friendly. Great job! Would definitely come back when in the area.
