the second time I look in here, it's very good to eat. both were for a birthday brunch. also server were well-manned and knew how to have a good time, although we dance on their wise. the entire restaurant is always alive and funny. I have nothing bad to say about this facility (except for the bad bad bad lightslip I saw so good last time). regardless of, in any case would recommend if they were looking for an energetic evening with friends, or a nice quiet brunch. the setting is very versatile.
Stopped in after a Service in Bridgeport before returning home to Stamford. Glad I did. The Sunday Buffet filled me up. The food was great. That may well be my after Sunday Service spot even when I attend my home church in Stamford. Well worth the drive on 95.
the food tastes better than it looks! rich but balanced taste profile, not overly baked or oily. if they are a fan of soul food, they have to look at thelma. they have survived in bridgeport for decades, and it is not a surprise why.
The fried chicken is always on point and is my favorite along with collard greens and yellow rice. I even order it with no flour since I'm gluten free. The bar takes my dining experience to another level. Food and fuel for the soul!
