Modinetti - Tisch reservieren

We've breakfasted here in summer, enjoying beautifully-prepared food, often with a bowl of nonna's complimentary stone fruit on our table and invited to take some homeThis Friday night we arrived for share plates. The front room had been re-arranged since our last visit, with the small bar, pastry presentation and expresso machine on the east side. Our host welcomed us warmly and our foursome was soon seatedCanned craft beers were good value at $7 - well below many other Adelaide restaurantsWe had a good choice of wines by the glass - also reasonably pricedWe grazed the "tapas" menu, trying everything except the Pizza with nutella and mascarpone [$12], enjoying a great range of attractively presented dishes with excellent colour, texture and flavour contrastsOur Sauteed green beans, chilli, garlic and hazelnuts [$7] was a generous serve - the beans retaining crunch, the hazelnuts perfectly roasted and the dressings well balancedThe Salmon cerviche and tapioca crackers [2 pieces $9] was new for me but delicious - we ordered another round like we did for our Spaghetti with meatballs [$14] with nicely-grilled ciabatta and Scallops/pear brandy sauce [$14] - attractive dish with fresh pomegranate seedsThe Tuna, apple kimchi [$11] was tasty - the fresh wild rocket beneath was perfectWe finished with Baked cheese with red wine [$13] a large platter of fruit and crisps around the runny cheese baked in it's foil packaging - tasty and, again, excellent value-4-moneyI took one point from the service after our host had to leave - he sets a very high standard that his staff can aspire toAt $158 for four our dinner was great value. We look forward to future Friday|Saturday night forays

We live in the area and had noticed that Modinetti was also now open on Fri / Sat night. Tapas were amazing, service very friendly and a great wine list. We will be back soon to taste the new menu that changes every two weeks...

Modinetti is a lovely little cafe haven on the busy Henley Beach Road. Coffee is superStaff always friendlyThe food is even better.
