We as a family have visited this place for many years and have always had great food and service. Our last visit (and very last) under the new owners was an experience I have never had before. The bar staff as always were very helpful and so we sat down and ordered our meal. Well, cheesy garlic bread came out on tin foil and was stuck to it so had to cut the foil away, mentioned this to the waitress and her response was oh thats the way our chef does it , maybe tell him we can 't eat it!! However the main course arrived and my steak was basically inedible, far to tough and chewy, not an enjoyable experience trying to eat it, mentioned this to the waitress and was told that we should have said something earlier, (this was only 10 minutes into our meal and no visit from waitress at our table to ask is everything was ok with your meal). Consequently I said when the bill came out I was unable to eat my meal, the waitress had the owners daughter come to discuss this and said we had to pay, I refused and she actually went to hit me. So travellers, be very aware of this place and if you do decide to eat there do not complain as you have to pay even if your food is not fit for human consumption. Enter at your own risk, you have been warned. Good luck.
As résidents of Port grimoud we were looking for a place to play some pool. We arrived... the lady at the bar made us wait for over 15 min. We ordered a bottle of champagne Ruinart for €90. After another 10min we got the bottle... already opened, warm glasses. Also we noticed that the bottle wasn 't fully filled. We said to the Bar lady that it is not the common use to bring a bottle already opened and that it was not full. Onwards she reacted offended and said she will contact the boss. Another young lady arrived asking what the problem was. We kindly explained the situation again and asked her to show us a closed bottle to compare with the bottle we got. So we could prove our point ont the fact the bottle wasn 't fully filled. She got verry offended and told us to pay for the bottle or leave.
We visited here every night during our holiday in Port Grimaud. It’s a good late night spot with great outside seating. We also loved the pool table room. Staff were friendly as expected in an Irish bar and happy hour prices were brilliant. Great choice on the menu, would recommend nachos and cheesy garlic bread. Portions are huge. Would definitely return here !!!
Two couples out go Munroe’s for Sunday Lunch. The food was really excellent and the service superb and really friendly. I would have no hesitation in returning back here !
