Mouton's Southern Bistro

I was embarrassed for recommending Mouton's to my family visiting from out of town considering all the praise I was giving before this experience. Although I had only been there once before I was impressed with the food and service provided. It's a shame that this time couldn't be the same. I realize that we had a large party (9) to serve, but a 1 hour wait time between appetizers and entrees is ridiculous. 86 mash potatoes, coleslaw, and after my brother in law's first beer of choice they ran out of that too. On a Friday evening. The restrooms were deplorable. Once the food arrived the flavor was decent, but my neice's order was wrong and her replacement was sub-par. Our server was really nice but needed reminders, and whom I assumed to be the manager made sure to visit every table in the restaurant to make sure all was well EXCEPT FOR OUR TABLE. I'm not sure if me using this reservation service had anything to do with it, but personally I felt that we were not very welcome from the time we walked in.

I wouldn't and won't again. Here's why. I ate here two weeks ago. The food was ok, pretty meh but edible. Later that evening, my stomach started to hurt....

Good food and open parking options. They do allow dogs on the patio which has fans to help with heat when needed. Staff is super attentive and friendly,...

The food and service was excellent. We had fried green tomatoes for appetizer and they were excellent. The gumbo was delicious as well. We will be back.

Amazing authentic creole and the staff is sweet as pie. We went to the one in Leander.
