I had eaten croissants and sourdough bread, so when I saw the reviews for Mr. Meowskis, I knew we had to try them. My Hubby went home early on Friday morning and came home with two beautiful, crusty, warm croissants and a fresh bread sourdough. The croissants were all you could wish in a pastry layer after the layer of brown, buttery, flaky goodness with a light, fluffy center. This can be the best croissant I had outside Europe! The sourdough bread was also divine. My husband assured me that he had bought the smallest bread, but it was a large round laib, at least 8 10 inches in diameter. Crusty and absolutely delicious, the bread would be a perfect companion to a hearty soup or stew. We enjoyed it with our breakfast from Lachseier Benedict. We had overtaken something the next day, so we cut it and roasted it in our bagel toaster and then pollinated with peanut butter jelly pure treat. We will definitely be back for more!
I ordered 2 sourdough weavers. When I arrived early Saturday morning, one of the owners took things out of the oven. I also bought blueberry muffins for my grandchildren. My loaves were still a little warm when I took it up and I wanted to eat a piece on my way home! But I waited. Lol! Once at home I cut several slices for myself and my grandchildren to eat with our breakfast. They were roasted and spread with butter. It was so good! Perfect in every way! And I know Sauerteigbrot! My grandchildren also loved the Blueberry muffins. I couldn't believe how big they were and how many blueberries were in every muffin.. I'll order again. Very convenient online order and a very fair price! Beautiful bakery Now thought of design. I wish them well!
We just returned from a trip to Saint Charles and I must say that this place was the highlight!!! The bread was amazing and every pastry we had was so good. It was so good that we went back a second day. The staff is incredibly friendly and definitely know how to make a lasting impression. We will be back DEFINITELY and recommend it to everyone we know.
Mr. Meowski was the first time in the week. Oh, wow! The breads of the sourdough have great taste and texture. We enjoyed the croissants and slices of cheesecake. Amazing aromas. Miss this little jewel of a bakery on Main Street in St. Charles.
