New Palace Bakery

In town for a conference. I started looking for places to visit while in Detroit and this bakery kept coming up on the lists. I'm always worried when you travel and you go to a bakery that they're actually going to have anything there when you arrive. This was such a great surprise. A bunch of nice people behind the counter. Super eager and ready to help. Explained all the wonderful new things that I had never seen before , then they began asking me questions about what I liked, what did that tell you about trying to make a customer happy. And they help me pick out some local favorites and a couple of my own favorite treats.I came for the very special donuts and that were outstanding. They have plenty of inventory to pick from as you can tell by the pictures and that was just before lunch time. So much to choose from. It's hard to pick what you're going to like or want. It was difficult to walk out without trying everything, but you have to pick something. I wish I could come back to this place more often, but since I was only visiting I had to take a small sample of everything and head out.I wish them a long long life because they're a fantastic bakery and a great asset to any city, most any town would love to have a place like this. It's a treasure! Congrats Detroit you have something special here!

We bought a dozen paczki yesterday. They were the best paczki we've ever had. I guess we will have to come to New Palace ever year because now we are spoiled. We got the #3 box, which had strawberry cheesecake, orange creamski, peanut butter and jelly, triple chocolate and buttercream. Yum! All winners! And all the staff was friendly and smiling. Such a wonderful treat all around!

Recommend ! This is the place to get your paczki. Limited selection available when in store but they do offer a wide variety of baked goods/paczki on menu. Service is quick, hit or miss on friendliness. Place is very small with walk up counter and all the baked goods on display. Parking available on street or parking lot across (paid parking)

Our family has been coming to New Palace Bakery for years. I've passed down the love of all their baked goods to my children. Only wish we didn't live so far away now. Seven sisters cake is shown here, but we also love their pazcki, kolachki, cruschkiki, and halka bread. Be sure you stop in. You will not be disappointed.
