"Sehr gut. Sehr empfehlenswert. Leckere Hausmannskost, vorallem der Herrengulasch mit Spiegelei und zerrissenem Würstel. Nettes, gemütliches Ambiente, freundlicher und guter Service und der Ausblick von der Terrasse kann sich auch abends sehen lassen. Es war garantiert nicht der letzte Besuch dort"

To be honest I was surprised to read bad reviews about this place. May be I was lucky and this depends on how busy the place is. I went there because I stayed nearby and this seemed to be the only restaurant in the vicinity. I came quite late (21:30) on a weekday so was afraid that the kitchen would be closed. After a glance at the watch and realizing that I was alone, the waiter and the chef discussed something and the chef disappeared to make a meal, which was a pheasant. It was quite cold outside so I started with a portion of Marillenschnapps (apricot.) Here I would recommend apricot Schnapps over the pear one.The meal that arrived in 15 minutes max (probably due to the fact that I was the only eating customer) consisted of grilled pheasant fillet, wrapped in cabbage leaves, chestnuts, red onions and slices of something which looked like bread, but was soft inside, had herbal and slightly sweet taste. It probably was indeed bread, rather than Knoedel, but grilled or fried in a special way, which I believe contributed to the total success of the meal. The pheasant was very juicy, with nice texture and natural taste which was not contaminated with lots of spices or sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. While eating the pheasant I came across a piece of a shot pellet. Some people would get angry and complain, but I found that it added an authentic feeling, as if it were a hunters' tavern. It was dark, so I would not see much out of the window, although I could see the panorama of the evening city lights. I presume the terrace they have is especially nice during spring/summer time.In addition, I would say the prices were fair, so lower than in the city center, and the food was definitely worth the price. Comparing my own experience with other reviews, I would deduct that it is better to come there not during the busy time and not as a big party.

This restaurant is located at a very scenic point at the Urfahr district of Linz and is supposed to offer quality austrian fare. But sadly, neither the food quality nor the service lives up to any kind of criteria which makes up a pleasant experience.we were a party of seven and none of the dishes could be called good...the tafelspitz, thick and hard, käse spätzle tasteless with roasted onions from a supermarkt, blutwurstgröstl not crisp and not spiced as it should be and the wienerschitzel dry and so thin that you had to look for the meat!!The service is slow...not particuliary friendly.ī have to say though that you get what you pay for...the bill for 7 was around 120 euros..which is way below what you would normally pay for in a restaurant with decent food. But it is a shame that such a scenic location would opt for such mediocre to poor performance.

This used to be a wonderful place, with a spectacular view to enjoy lunch or dinner. I say USED to. New owners have been in there for over a year now and continue to serve poor to average food. The staff always look stressed or upset, not like the days with the previous owner - where walking through the door you were greeted with a smile and small talk. The chef was touted as being young, fresh and innivative - perhaps who ever wrote this didn't eat his food. The food all tastes the same - bland, overcooked and covered in heavy salty sauces. I can cook better than what he has to offer at home, with my eyes closed.Sad but true - they destroyed a lovely local restaurant in one foul swoop.
