Olive Tree Brasserie Stockton Heath

Myself and a friend booked after seeing the January offer 50% . As we arrived and were seated I asked the waitress to clarify we would be eligible for the offer and she explained that was fine and then highlighted the dishes not included. Slow drinks service and took a while to order. Many dishes unavailable due to a supplier issue. We opted for gyros and asked for one without the hot sauce, which I think probably isn’t uncommon as many don’t like spice. Food took a while and my friends gyros arrived covered in hot sauce. We asked if it was the hot sauce and before we could finish waiter abruptly replied it’s on the menu, it’s what you’ve ordered. Yes it is on the menu however we had asked for it without and told it was fine. He did then offer to change it however didn’t seem thrilled. A new gyros returned however by then mine was cold. After our meal we asked for the bill. Realised the 50% hadn’t been removed. When we asked it was because the online booking didn’t quote the offer. Again the tone was almost argumentative, rude and abrupt. I would have been absolutely fine with not receiving the offer had I missed it on the terms and conditions if we hadn’t asked for clarification before ordering and when seated that we could use the 50% off. Overall the menu looks good if not running on limited availability due to suppliers, the food is quite nice but honestly it felt like us visiting was a problem from being greeted to leaving as the staff were very unfriendly.

Good solid effort, plenty of options. All hot drinks available as vegan with variety of plant milks and all vegan cocktails clearly marked as Ve. We had the vegan roast, chickn was not amazing just ok, yorkshire pudding was more like a dumpling. We also had the sweet potato falafel, nice flavour, little bit of heat. Had a selection of starters, like a tapas style, see pictures. Food was good, would go back. A lot of Vegan desserts, in-fact more vegan options than non vegan options which is great.

Went the other day for lunch. Service was good, all staff were very nice and chatty. It 's beautifully decorated and the food was lovely. Had a vegan jackfruit gyros and chips. Waitress had a good knowledge of vegan options and helped to make the decision. Prices of food were reasonable for the area, would go back again. Also have a 'Veganuary ' offer of a free vegan meal when purchasing a cocktail very nice touch. #Veganuary

The owner is vegan so everything including cocktails and wine is clearly marked . Many creative vegan options on the menu including vegan chickn Really enjoyed both the evening menu and Sunday menu Updated from previous review on 2023-10-21

Weekday lunch catch up with friend. Delicious mezze and great customer service in a lovely modern brasserie.
