Went in for a waffle for two and I asked if we could have it with chocolate ice cream and they said no. This is definitely not my first time in an Oliver Brown joint as I am a regular to the cafes and I have always ordered my waffles with chocolate ice cream. Then when the waffles came as two pieces on one small plate I asked if we could get an extra sharing plate as it looked quite crowded for me and my hubby to be sharing it on. The waiter said no they don't give sharing plates. I asked why as I just wanted an empty plate. He said something about the cheaper price when ordering two. I did not even have the mood to argue so I let it go and was forced to share the waffles on a small crowded plate in the middle of the table. Definitely will not be back. Terrible service!!!
I'd walked past Oliver Brown at least a few times a week, so took the opportunity to visit today with a friend. Big mistake. Staff ignored us, even though we were standing at the counter waiting to place our orders, and they were behind the counter looking at paperwork and could see us in front of them. The hot chocolate was sickly sweet and I couldn't drink it all. The individual chocolates were overpriced - $2.50 for a chocolate the size of a 20 cent piece. I won't be back.
I met with a client for a meeting. We asked about a particular chocolate what flavour it was. The staff member on the register said " I haven't tasted it so I don't know". He asked another staff member and she tried to find boxes that it may have been delivered in. The original staff member went on to say " I don't eat chocolate". A little disappointing service from a company that prides itself on being a chocolate cafe
Over charged me for food I didn't even ask for and than pretty much told me to bad I confirmed my order, ridiculous and very rude service by both the manager and staff. Wish I could rate this less than a one.
