My boyfriend and I had a valentines meal here as we were staying for the weekend in the hotel. We booked a package deal which originally should have been a superior double room but due to over booking over the valentines weekend we were changed...to a standard double (this was ran by us first) and we were offered complimentary add ons which we were pleased with. Because of this, our package included a three course meal and bottle of wine. On arrival to the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely remember of staff who was welcoming and asking about our stay. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but we felt she was an asset to the company as she couldn't do enough for us. The other staff were also very attentive and we were never waiting long for our next course. The food was excellent, we ordered the tomato and red pepper soup to start, followed by a burger and mushroom risotto for our mains and a chocolate dome brownie and lemon tart for dessert. All of which were thoroughly enjoyed. The wine was lovely and the ambience of the room was perfect for the occasion. All the furniture looks to be Laura Ashley and it really is stunning. Highly recommend.
I have already written a review at another place, but this entry is similar. a gift of our grandchildren, for my birthday, who was chosen with thoughts because it should include my wife. this old town house is located in a hotel in a beautiful area and...was a welcoming warmth. this warmth was much in evidence when the personal greeted and shown to our table in a magnificent winter garden and to our table. Beverage was quickly served, followed by our afternoon tea consisting of cake, sandwiches and scones, jam and cream. Words alone do not describe enough the quality, the amount, the presentation and the worth what was a very pleasant eating. describing it as snack would not be fair. good service in beautiful environment next special celebration will be this place an obvious choice.
I was an evening at the hotel for work and instead of going, I thought I could stay in the restaurant and eat. I ordered a pickle juice and a lamb steak. minutes later, the main entrance to which I should remember that I had ordered a drink. that was brought to me. the lamb was chewy, and I was not offered a sauce for my chips. the table next to me had an empty, dirty plate of someone who had gone before I sat down. After I finished, I noticed that one of the waiters went around and offered tables brot before you came to the net, which I had not been offered. this was a Thursday evening, with a series of empty tables. would not be eating here again.
beautiful ambiente, beautiful decor, very slow service, extremely bad Sunday dinner. we both had bratbeef, that was half extremely flabby fat and the rest difficult to cut. dessert, Belgian waffel, obviously from the freezer and over microwave, was more like a keks. it will take a long time to come back.
