Ose - Tisch reservieren

Delicious food is important to me. This was my first time in France, hence I knew I wanted to experience an authentic French cuisine. Spoiler alert this story has a good ending. 1) Service was excellent. At least the waiter who served me. Angers is a small city and I do not expect people to speak English. The waiter was very kind, polite and worked hard on explaining me the menu . 2) The price. In my opinion, the price is reasonable for what you get. I visited Ose for lunch and ordered 3 course meal (please see pictures below) and paid 30 euros coffee 5 eur. Food was delicious and I left restaurant feeling satiated. 3) The place/atmosphere/design. The restaurant is located near the Château d'Angers. To be honest, when it comes to restaurant itself how it looked nothing special. Basic design, basic layout. However, the place could be a little bit more lighter, open the curtains, it was just simply too dim inside there for me. No music playing which is ok for me. Maybe you could play come french relaxing music in the background to add to the experience. 4)Food was delicious and fulfilling. My favorite was the dessert. It was delicious, just the right amount of sweet perfect. Starter was interesting but in a good way. I think the word that I am looking for is different. I have never thought of a leek combo with fried cheese. Quite unique. Finally, the main dish was some sort of french spaghetti together with beets in a sauce and the FISH. As a see food fan the fish was cooked perfectly. It was cooked quickly though, I waited for my dessert few minutes only which also makes me think that the food was not the freshest. Anyway, overall it was good.

We had a booking of 6 adults and 6 kids and immediately did not feel welcome by the manager as our kids were talking. We kept the children as quiet as possible-much quieter than other children in the restaurant. Other kids in the restaurant were running wild between tables as ours kept quiet and seated. However we appeared to be the only table the owner obviously did not want in there despite accepting our booking with the knowledge we had 6 kids and came from England. Our sever Daniel was excellent however we felt really unwelcome by the owner. The food was of a great standard but due to the miserable atmosphere from the owner, we would not come again.

First night in Angers and were staying close to the Chateau and came across this restaurant with inside and outside seating looking out to the Chateau. It has a small but very good menu offering local and seasonal food served in a friendly efficient manner. It felt like a family owned and managed establishment but I am not sure that is so. It was busy with local people and tourists and had a nice atmosphere. We ate three courses each with a beer and a bottle of wine and the cost was Euro 110 which we felt was not cheap but good value for the quality of the food. Would definitely return and recommend to visitors to Angers.

Amuse bouche and all three courses were excellent. Cerviche: fish was fresh and red fruit varient complemented perfectly. Tuna was seared and rare with an interesting spiced rice accompaniment. Nectarine pavlova perfect. Inexpensive varietal Loire wines by the glass enabled choice. Well behaved dogs allowed and friendly efficient service from staff who assisted me in trying to speak French

We went for a family lunch and despite our personal waiter, Daniel, being very attentive, charming, and knowledgeable the manager was brusk and dismissive to our group. The food was delicious but the experience somewhat tainted by the dirty looks. Shame, as otherwise we would return and recommend to friends travelling in the region.
