This place ranges from not bad to pretty good. Ol ' Johnny 's is more deserving of three and a half stars, but since Italian is hard to track down in Amarillo (you 've got Carino 's, the Olive Garden, which I 've heard horror stories about, and Antonio 's, which I 've heard is amazing but never tried, since they keep kind of elusive hours, I 'll round up to four instead of down to three. I 've tried several dishes and found that the pizza 's work for me. It 's a personal size (maybe 10 with a super thin crust (the way I like it. The five cheese special is excellent and is what I most often end up ordering. The build your own 's are also good (you can get capers and roasted bell peppers yum. The complementary bread is delicious and they have seasoned oil with fried garlic for dipping. The rest of the menu seems to be standard Italian, and though I 'm not a huge fan of marinara sauce, it 's consistently decent. The service seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes the servers are really friendly and attentive, and sometimes you only see them every fifteen minutes, even when it 's the middle of the day and there are only four other tables. There have been a couple of times when they 're out of bread and it never seems to be ready until the meal has come, after the allure of free snackables has passed.
