The Sweet and Savory Salad was pretty good, although loaded with more toppings than salad. The Caesar Salad was not very good and I am a Caesar Salad connoisseur."

My friend from NJ told me that I'd love it. He was sooo right. Let's go over the important aspects of this ahhhhhhmazing spot. Service: The staff is friendly very helpful. They're totally proud of their restaurant you can feel this in their service food. Pizza: The Italian Stallion is a must get pizza. The ingredients are super fresh tastes delicious. The mustard pie (what they're famous for) was good but not my jam. I mean... I'd eat it. ? It was still delicious but next to the Italian Stallion... the Stallion will win 100 times over for me. I just prefer white pizza. So cool things to point out. This place is BYOB which is awesome. It's perfect for a craft beer drinker like me. ? Grab your favorite beers dine in. Another option is get the pizza to go sit outside at their tables out front. They weren't doing outdoor service but this is the work around they gave people who didn't feel comfortable eating inside. This may not be the case when you go as they may reopen outdoor seating. Who knows. This is just as of November 10 2021.
This last Tuesday, 5 July. 2020 after 1st Leg of a group motorcycle ride with friends, considered here one of the best Trenton tomato pies known Old School Pizza Enthusiast 's. Today, visit was a return for me, but the first for Jerry, Butch and Lou.... We chose the traditional large mustard and a large onion, pepper and sausage!!! Everyone seemed to enjoy the fantastic thin crispy crust, delicious sweet tomato sauce and the improved aromas of the other fresh ingredients and toppings, including the subtle taste of mustard on the mustard cake, which also had Papa's tomato sauce on it. The cakes created here at Papa's Tomato Pie are what I wrote my posts reviews since Kit 's and my visit in February 2017 after reintroducing this style of pizza by an article by Peter Genovese the Star Ledger.
This is my favorite pizza place in existence! That mustard pizza was just fantastic. The wings were odd. They were a little sweet/tangy and crispy. Not a flavor I'm used too but still worth it. I'm going to try to come back one day but 2200 miles from home. Thank you for the experience! The only bad thing was getting in and out it took a few minutes but again so worth it.
We got a half mustard pie with sausage and garlic and half regular with basil. Crispy crust with little chew. Mustard pie side was best. The garlic was very good and so was the sausage, but wish the sausage bits were a bit smaller as the large chunks fell off. The tomato sauce had good flavor, not sweet or spicy but pleasant tomato taste. Staff was so nice and friendly.
