Paul's American

I 've never thought about writing a review of this place due to the fact that it is quite small and within the city I live, however, it is popular among the Germans/Americans who live here so I 've decided to share my thoughts. I 've eaten here twice and have come to these conclusions due to a few trends I 've experienced. #1, If you are going to serve your customers food, make sure there are, (already), eating utensils at the table. The first time I ate here, a couple months ago, our food was served and we waited over 5 minutes, looking at our food the entire time, waiting for the waitress to bring the eating utensils. Today, the food was brought again with nothing to eat our food with on the table. The waitress was a bit faster this time but overall it just doesn 't make sense. #2, If you are going to serve your customers flat coke, (in this case flat coke with rum), and the customer acknowledges to you that they are disappointed with the flat coke rum, due your customer a favor, as all restaurants should, and bring your customer a new coke rum. Not to mention the cristal weizen tasting old and also flat. #3 There seems to be a disregard for customer concerns as we voiced our disappointment, only to be ignored. With this restaurant being as popular at it is, you would think that, along with the ok American food, quality service would also follow. In the case of Paul 's American Restaurant, they seem to be more concerned with the bottom line then taking care of the customer. You know how the saying goes, just give them the pickle ! To think that my thoughts regarding this restaurant might have been slightly altered had my fiance I been giving better service shows what customer service does for, not only a restaurant, but any business.

This restaurant has long been on our list and we are finally there. There were 4 of us, 3 German and an American. I was the only one with extensive experience with the full selection of cuisine offered there. The Germans were taken from the cheesy decor and the menus. It's all a deliberate part of the atmosphere. Two of us ordered the Paul's Sampler Plate, a 200 gram smokey Cheeseburger and I the replacement ripple plate. We exchanged the taste of everything. The portions were all huge, all dishes were cooked to order. What I missed was the spices. Every dish I tried was a bit boring. There was no regional taste or style of preparation. Everyone tasted as if a Northern man prepared these quintessentially southern dishes. Perhaps the departure of the American military of Schweinfurt led the owner to vote on the less spicy German palate.

Since the remodeling and moving into new location, the restaurant has become a fully on Burger Bar Many types of various burgers and toppings, steaks, chicken, etc. Good quality and American style components. The prices have increased quite a lot, but enjoy the quality of food, service is very friendly in the atmosphere is great. License plates, new and old, from all different states, as well as paintings and various wall arts. Make it like an old school meal. Very busy place, so I recommend a reservation!

It is a small restaurant and has the flair of an American diner. The food is good, don't expect anything funny. We're all going. Remember to make reservations, most of the time you do not have luck finding a table without reservation.

i recommend this restaurant if you are looking for American food. i cannot recommend this restaurant, if you want to have a comfortable atmosphere.
