We were looking forward to having lunch at Restaurant Pfferfferschiff on the invitation of friends, and the open air environment contributed to our expectations.The beef ordered by two of the party was very unsatisfactory, and my venison order was simply mediocre. The restaurant does not have a cheese trolley, and the waiter carelessly offered to put together a few pieces of cheese among their collection of some 30 different kinds, which I declined.I hope that ours was a single event and good reputation will not lead to deterioration of the restaurant's quality.
In größerer Runde hatten wir das Vergnügen verschiedenste Bestandteile der angebotenen Menüs zu probieren. Alles war exzellent, frisch, tolle Zutaten, sehr raffiniert gewürzt. Die Weinkarte lässt kaum einen Wunsch offen, der Service ist angenehm gelegentlich ein bisschen übereifrig. Die Räumlichkeiten sind nicht sehr groß, daher unbedingt reservieren. Der Gastgarten ist im Sommer wunderschön und eine angenehme Abwechslung zum heißen Salzburg.Die Preise sind sehr gehoben, pro Person muss man ca.120€ rechnen.
To me, this is the best restaurant in Salzburg. Good quality ingredients, treated well, respecting the austrian traditional gastronomy and always looking for an uplifted touch of innovation. All very well balanced! As well, the location and the personal is very welcoming and makes it very enjoyable. Wine pairing is worthy and the cheese trolley is very complete! The price is for special occasions, although the quality price/quality is better than the other hi end restaurants in the region.
Had the most wonderful meal in the most beautiful setting at Pffefferschiff in Austria. The food is very modernistic but it's not a case of style over substance. The tasting menu is pure bliss with each course perfectly balanced combined with outstanding flavours Certainly not cheap but an experience you couldn't forget. Wouldn't think twice about going again if I'm in Salzburg. It's hard to beat and overall a magical night.
