Ploughcroft Tea Room

Not impressed. We arrived early for our reservation and ended up being seated about 25 minutes later. We then waited another 30 minutes at the table before we had tea. A few words come to mind when sitting and eating here, overpriced, pretentious, judgmental, inattentive, understaffed. The tea was mediocre at best? once it arrived. The food was ridiculously priced for doll-sized sandwiches and dry crumbly desserts. The biscuits tasted over a week old and fell apart in

I was looking for a last minute fun trip for me and my wife. She enjoys a good English tea restaurant, and really liked this one a lot. We were too early for high tea, but we will be back again in the future to get the full experience. The scones were amazing, probably the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is very inviting. Nice people greet you when you walk in and the experience overall was great. Food: 5

A close friend of mine, Erica, works here and I can see why. It's very homey and a great place to have private parties or go to read a book. They have specialty teas, some that I had never tried before, that are absolutely delicious. The decor takes you somewhere else. A great place to get away.

Fantastic place to go and hangout with friends on a rainy afternoon. Reservations are important, but not necessary! Great British atmosphere and wonderful food. Despite the prices being somewhat high, the food and tea is fantastic. I would recommend for anyone to try.
